The knowledge base, checked line by line against the source
Fifty-eight articles on running Xi-Batch and Xi-Text, moved off the old platform into a maintained source and corrected against the products they describe.
Fifty-one articles were exported from the old Odoo knowledge base into a maintained source in August, and corrected article by article from there. The set now stands at fifty-eight, each answering one question for one product.
What changed in the move
The articles are no longer prose that happened to be published. Each one was taken back to the source: every command, flag, path, file name, default, limit and state name in it was checked against the product it describes, and what did not match was corrected rather than rephrased. A review register records what was checked and when.
That is the difference between documentation and documentation you can act on at two in the morning. An article that names a message, a directory and an exit code is only useful if all three are right.
How it stays right
The articles are published to the website from their source by a tool, not by hand, so the site and the record cannot drift apart. When a release changes behaviour the article changes with it - the 1.9.4 and 1.25.7 work took eleven corrections through the same path.
