Downloads and licensing
Where licensed customers get releases, renew licences and read the manuals.
Releases, licence renewal and the product manuals are in the customer portal. It is a separate, authenticated system, and your licence entitles you to an account.
What is in the portal
- Product downloads
- Current and previous releases of Xi-Batch and Xi-Text, in RPM, Debian package and tarball form. Choosing between them is covered in the knowledge base.
- Online licensing
- Issue and renew licences against your own systems. Renewing without an operator present is covered for Xi-Batch and Xi-Text.
- Manuals
- The full product documentation for both products.
How signing in works
There is no password to remember, and none is stored.
- Your account reference and email address
- Sign in with the account reference and the email address held for your account.
- A six-digit code
- A code is sent to the address you enter, and signs you in. Nothing is stored between visits, so there is no password to lose, reset or have leaked.
If no code arrives, or you do not have your account reference, contact Support. The usual cause is simply that the contact details held for the account need bringing up to date - tell us the organisation and we will put it right.
If you do not have an account yet
Licensed customers can request portal access from support. Tell us the organisation and the systems the licence covers.
If you licensed Xi in the past
Access can be restored. The systems licensed historically remain visible in the portal, so a lapsed account is a matter of signing in again rather than starting over.
Generating new licence codes requires a current support contract. Reading what you already have does not.
Evaluating rather than licensed?
Evaluation copies are supplied directly and install in minutes. They need no database, make no kernel modifications, and convert to licensed status without reinstallation.
